Four in a Bed - Hilltop Hideaways

Making Room for Four in a Bed!

We’re on the telly!

Yes the Hilltop Hideaways dream-team of Lil and Lotte Ellis were brave enough to go under the spotlight on prime-time Channel 4, appearing on ‘Four in a Bed.’

If you haven’t seen it the concept is simple – four sets of hotel or B&B owners (or in our case glampers) from around the country take turns to try out each other’s accommodation and score their stay.

We were asked to take part earlier this year, cousins-in-law Lotte and Lil rising to the challenge with a week of filming back in May.

As well as welcoming the programme guests for a stay here in the Warwickshire countryside – in our luxury bell tents, shepherds’ huts and wooden cabins – we also travelled all over the UK sampling the competition – from a hotel in Tynemouth to a B&B in Blackpool.

Our TV adventure airs every night at 5pm from Monday October 8th – Friday October 12th. And on Thursday (October 11th) it’s Hilltop’s turn to go under the spotlight, when the show follows our Four in a Bed guests during their stay on the farm.

We won’t spoil it but it’s fair to say there were highs and lows!

We had a lot of fun and decided the best way to make it a good experience was to relax, enjoy it and laugh a lot – and we certainly did that! Meeting and spending a lot of time with the other contestants was interesting and knowing that none of them were really into the great outdoors and the countryside was always going to be challenging!

Tune in or catch up on all 4.

The program was not a true reflection of your business. The other B&B owners do not get a choice where they stay so when it is somewhere different they don’t judge it as a true guest. It’s not their cup of tea & judge it as somewhere they wouldn’t stay. It is a place they wouldn’t normally book.
I have never been glamping but think what you offer is amazing.
    Hold your heads high girls!!

Thanks Annie, it’s really lovely to read your feedback as it was such a disappointing result. Never the less, we are really happy with how the site looked on the show and we treated our fellow competitors as we’d like to be treated. If you ever decide to try glamping then please do come and stay! Best regards Lotte & Lil

You definitely were the winners and classy all the way, amazing how narrow minded people are! Your accommodation and breakfast looked amazing! Congratulations and keep on keeping on!

Hi just got round to watching you on tv, although glamping/camping is not my wife’s thing I thought you have an excellent thing going, loved the two of you from the start, with your bubbly personality, thought you were badly judged especially from Blackpool even though she didn’t stay the night.

I’ve just watched 4 in a bed and whilst I’ve never stayed at your establishment I would like to say I thought you were the most honest and fair contestants! Well done for keeping your cool and acting in such a professional manner.Im sure it will have been to your advantage as your lovely personalities came across very well. Good luck for the future

I saw the show and thought your place looked fabulous, my family love glamping, and would definitely stay at your place. I think the show was a little unfair and wad not comparing like for like, which I think affected the final decision massively.
PS I live in Tynemouth, glad you liked it. ( I don’t know Steve though)

  • Just finished watching from Ireland. My boyfriend and I agree we would love to stay here and thought your result was unfair. Looks beautiful to us and we’d definitely stay if we were ever in the area!
